8 December - Christmas Dinner

Once again the months have flown by and it's time to get into the Christmas Spirit (mine's a brandy & soda) by signing up to the BSAC 1771 Club Christmas Meal and general get together.

Roger has arranged for us to go to Le Montemartre, an old pub that has been transformed into a French bistro, which on the opposite corner to Essex Road railway station. I've arranged for the meal to start at 7.30pm so I would suggest that it should 7.15pm for drinks and on from then.

30 June - Curry Night

Roger has arranged a Club Night Out on 30th June at the Regency Restaurant, Old Street, EC1.

It is an Indian restaurant about 7 minutes walk from the club. We have been there before and had a good meal. He has asked for about twenty places for 8.30pm so there will be plenty of time to dry off after the pool. Contact Roger Sawyer is you want more details.

10 March 2005 - La Piragua, Upper Street, Islington

Food: Good reasonably priced steaks, lamb, fish and all sorts of other South American style goodies.

Wine: Good reds, good bottled beer, I haven't tried the white wine but I expect it's as good as the red.

Price: Expect to pay about £17 ish for a main meal and dessert or starter, with some plonk.

Time: 8.30pm after diving

Location: Opposite Islington Town Hall, very near the Fire Station. There will be a map at the club for a couple of weeks before. There's a bus stop 10 yards away where the No. 4 stops. Tube stations are Angel (long walk, 12 minutes) or Highbury & Islington (8 minutes). Parking is a bit of a problem but there are usually spaces in the side streets but nothing in the main road.

Names to Roger or Barbara please over the next few weeks. Last date for inclusion is 3rd March so that I can get the numbers to the restaurant by Monday of the next week.

24 February 2005 - Annual General Meeting

The yearly club AGM will being held in the social centre.
