Sports Diver
Once qualified as an sports diver, you can participate in dives where the depth does not exceed 35m. This can include undertaking mandatory decompression stops.
The training program consists of three sections: lectures, pool work and open-water dives.
Lectures
- Introduction to sports diver training
- Diver rescue
- Equipment and techniques
- Deeper diving
- Air planning and systems
- Going diving
- Assistant dive marshall (dry practical)
Pool Work
The only formal lesson covers rescue skills. However it is recommended to practice with the new equipment introduced in the course.
Open-water dives
Five open water dives under instruction must be logged (min 120 minutes).
